I'M SO SORRY

This is just a quick post to give a HUGE APOLOGY to all my readers for not blogging over the past couple of months, (+ a bit more) but I haven't 'deserted' my blog and some would put it, I've just been ridiculously busy moving back to the UK and unpacking a house load of shit etc, etc, plus catching up with friends and family. I've got lots of ideas for when I return which will definitely be (hold your breath) September, it's so hard to blog when you don't have a steady routine, so once I start college I'll be back to my usual posts.

I'm thinking of going for a much more 'self-based' blog, testing out beauty products, lots more look of the day's and a lot of reviews. Once again I'm sorry for not posting, I've felt so guilty!

Much love to all my readers,

BAFTAS 2011

First of all, HUGE apologies for not blogging much recently, I'm in the process of moving back to England, and as I expected, it's hectic. Boxes everywhere, I hate living in mess and it's proving to be more difficult than expected living out of a suitcase. When I'm back in England (this Thursday) and all unpacked expect DAILY POSTS... now, on with the show...

As a huge fan of English television, I love the Baftas. It's not quite got the gitz and the glamour of say the Oscars or maybe the Billboards (maybe because it's sponsored by Phillips...), but it brings all who make English TV brilliant together and shows off the best in the business.

I could talk all day as to who should have won, who I'm glad one, who I don't really care about etc, but this is a fashion blog so I'll focus on the outfits. Let's the who rocked it on the Red Carpet, and who seriously flopped it.

Jaime Winstone looked gorgeous in Alexander McQueen, holding a Marilyn Monroe based look- it was elegant but was still fun and slightly youthful. Kate Winslet looked effortless and minimalistic in Stella Mccartney and Trudi Styler looked glam in Victoria Beckham. As much as Kate and Trudi's outfit were slightly on the safe side, they still looked presentable and fitted right into the occasion.

Now for my not so shining stars...

Audrey Tautou looked like she was modelling paper in Lanvin, Anna Kendrick's dress look like it just sat on her in Pucci, Kimberly Walsh was definitely trying to rock the ostrich bejewelled image... it didn't work) and public enemy of awkwardness number one, Kirsten Steward looked, well awkward in Chanel. This feels criminal saying this but I thought Kirsten just looked tacky, she might have been in Chanel and the right person probably would have pulled it off, she however, didn't.

Now, a special little tribute to my favourite TV program, The Only Way Is Essex, yes it's tacky and yes it's cheap, but I can't help but love it. I'm thrilled that they won a Bafta this year and they certainly knew how to liven up the party while on stage, it was pure comedy gold watching the upper class snobs look down their noses at the TOWIE cast as they received the award.

Amy Childs looks like she took some inspiration from her competitors for the award, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding... with a Beauty And The Beast twist? It was nice, different... it certainly spiced things up a bit.

Lauren Goodger looked dazzling in silver next to gorgeous finance Mark Wright, in a sequinned backless dress, she showed off her amazing curves beautifully!

Lydia Bright and (boyfriend?! does anyone know?) James Sargent looked like the perfect couple. Lyd's come on leaps and bounds since her first appearance on TOWIE, she even said herself 'I looked like a drag queen!' yes honey, you did, but look at you now! You can't expect anything subtle from this crowd and you just have to like it or lump it, I for one love it!

The TOWIE girls with the BAFTA award, Sam Faiers looked chic in her simple white gown, a first for one of these lot, but her dress did look slightly understated next to the MGFGW/Beauty & The Beast masterpiece sported by Amy...

Nanny Pat must of got a bit bored halfway through the awards and thought she'd have a quick flick through a mag... she looked so cute in her little orange dress, probably taking influence from Amy's tan.

Congratulations TOWIE ;)

A new addition to the family... Introducing: The Mulberry Taylor

As a massive fan of Mulberry- (as you probably already know), I was over the moon when the latest addition to the Mulberry clan was released... The Taylor.

My top five being the Alexa, Bayswater, Lily, Tillie & Ted, I'm not sure whether the Taylor is up to my expectations but it's a new release and these things take time... I'm sure an A-Lister will be papped with the Taylor hanging off her shoulder and the world will go crazy (much like the Alexa), so we'll wait and see

It comes in three sizes (much like the Alexa) and can be yours from £525 to £950, depending on size. Colour-wise, at the moment there are only three: Bright Cabbage Soft Matte, Deer Brown Soft Matte and Black Smooth Leather, so in a nutshell, green, tan and black. I'm sure there will be hundreds of special editions to be released in the future like the leopard print Bayswater... still not sure on that one, but I've got a feeling this is just a taste of what's to come.

A little glimpse of the Taylor, I like it. I don't love it, but I like it. I wouldn't bother with the mini, or medium sized, oversized is the way forward with this bag and I do quite like the 'cabbage green'...?!

Thoughts?

Hnery Holland- AN AMAZING NIGHT

So when I found out through twitter that Henry Holland was coming to Dubai I almost died. I'm a huge fan of his and if you go to a post I did a while ago here you can see my admiration for him.

I've kept an eye out for him even since he arrived in Dubai but wasn't lucky enough to meet him, until tonight, when he was dj'ing at the gorgeous boutique in the Dubai Mall, S*auce, their website is currently under maintenance but they have a great blog which you can check out here.

Seeing as I missed out on attending the Grazia Style Awards last night (ugh) in which he was presenting, I had to go down to S*uce tonight and finally meet him! S*uce is a really quirky, fun, out there boutique and it just screams Henry Holland style, it holds great clothes, accessories, including things like iPad cases and laptop sleeves.

The event was really chilled and comfortable, with HL doing his 'thing' on the decks, chatting to people, being very friendly. He was more than happy to have a picture with me and was very sociable, it was nice to see someone so big in the fashion world not think they're better than you and actually communicate with you for once.

Here is my pride and joy (I think i'm still shaking...)

He looked great in a striking blazer, white tee, jeans and smart shoes, he wore the epitome of the fashion industry's 'smart/casual'. (also, I LOVE his hair)

The man himself

Some of the gorgeous clothes sold at S*uce

House of Holland do cakes now!?

I want one of these! Blackberry cases <3

Also on my wishlist, 'Fashion can be bought, style one must possess'.

House of Holland tasty treats...

Andrea Brocca looked fabulous as usual!

Not the best picture but a few dresses from the House of Holland range.

The whole evening was fabulous, spent with my gorgeous friends SarahSaanieh, Alizey & Andrea, and surely won't be one to forget.

Ever wondered what it's like to live in Pixie Lott's world and be a celebrity fashion designer?

The gorgeous dress line Lipsy have given keen fans of the clothing line into an insight of how Pixie Lott created and designed her own clothing line for Lipsy, using 'websiodes' on youtbube showing you the process of the collection. They're really interesting and give a great insight into what it takes and how much work is put in. There are going to be about 5 episodes in total and the first one is up now, which you can watch on my blog here:

Enjoy :)

HENRI LLOYD JEANS CO. - SWEATSHIRTS!!

ONE FOR THE BOYS...

We've all heard of Henri Lloyd, but now there's something new, Henri Lloyd Jeans Co. is the younger brother to Henri Lloyd and takes inspiration from the mainline collection but with a twist! It's a newer, more fresh collection focusing on the younger generation. Henri Lloyd sits perfectly in the 'Designer-St' mix, it's exceptional quality and 'look' appeals to the designer side of things whereas the price tags say otherwise, it's the best of both worlds.

Their S/S 11 collection is really good, focusing on all key aspects of what's hot this summer. I'm loving their swearshirt collection and am desperate to get my hands on one, a spokesperson for Henri Lloyd Jeans Co. said...

'With colour blocking being a key trend for SS11 and those chilly summer evenings not far round the corner these sweatshirts will be an essential for the style savvy.'

I think these jumpers hold a classic, energetic yet youthful look and like stated above, would be perfect for that chilly summers evening. Prices starting at £58, you can purchase one from standalone stores, stockists nationwide and on their website: http://www.henrilloyd.com

Hope you enjoyed something a bit different, I love reviewing what's new at the moment and I thought that a mens style post was highly overdue.

BATTLE OF THE BAGS

So this summer, I have come to the decision that I am going to buy myself a new bag. Excited as I am, I find myself torn between two exceptional messenger style bags, and am clueless as to which one to pick.

My dream solution? Get both. But sadly, I'm a (soon to be) student, and by buying one of these bags I'm being stretched to my limit so two is out of the question, also, I think my parents would have a heart attack.

So, introducing contestant number one)

LOUIS VUITTON DAMIER GRAPHITE MICK

I'm utterly in love with this bag. I spotted it when I went into Louis Vuitton the other day to get my other LV repaired, it was a sad day, but moving on, I love the slenderness of it. It's extremely chic and simple yet it still has the wow-factor, it's got a rock'n'roll appeal about, after all it is named after the legend Mick Jagger. I think it looks professional but still holds quirkiness and excitement due to the silver zips placed on the top, front and back. The fact that the bag opens by a zip and not a flap is a definite bonus for me as my current bag is a flap, and it can be a pain when in a hurry, so it's convenient too. I'd use it for everyday things, going to college etc, it's an A4 size bag so can fit what I need in it, it's perfect.

Contestant number two)

MULBERRY TED IN OAK, NATURAL LEATHER

I've had my eye on this bag for a year or so now, in my eyes it's like the male version of the oversized Alexa, although apparently the oversized Alexa is unisex, I'm not too sure and think it would look a bit too feminine. I just find this bag cute, and hold the classic messenger bag appeal. Mulberry is the definition of English Luxury Fashion and I adore it, it's so elegant and simplistic. The fact that it turns into a backpack makes this bag even more adorable although I'm not sure I'd use it, I don't want to make a twat out of myself. Practically, the LV is probably a lot easier to get into whereas although the Ted has magnetic buttons that are attached to the buckles to open it, it's still that whole annoyance of getting into it.

A lot to think about, a lot to consider, both bags are almost identical in price so that's not a problem, it's just a case of whether I opt for Classic English Luxury or High Fashion Chic...

Share your thoughts and leave a comment, I need all the help I can get as I'm useless at choosing.

ROYAL WEDDING- 29/4/11

It seems the whole world was completely geared up for possibly one of the biggest events of the decade, the Royal Wedding of the future heir to the throne Prince William and is wife Kate Middleton.

Did it live up to your expectations?

My answer? YES YES YES!!!

The whole affair was absolutely stunning, Kate looked breathtaking as she walked down the aisle, Will looked the typical Prince Charming, draped in red, everything was perfect. Of course, with hits, there always comes misses, it's clear to see Princess Beatrice & Eugenie attracted mass attention due to their stunning outfits... err not.

Let's start at the top...

I don't actually think I've heard one person say they didn't like Kate's dress for the day, it was absolutely stunning, I did have my suspicions that she may be wearing McQueen for the big day, but I think that was just what I was praying for as a huge fan of McQueen. Sarah Burton did an amazing job and i'm sure her career has really boomed since this event, she looked comfortable, elegant and striking in this masterpiece. It was nothing over the top, just simple. Perfect.

My one criticism... maybe her tiara could have been a TINY bit higher on her head as to me it did look a little like it'd been stuck on, a little lift might have excited things up a bit for me, but that's just me being picky.

Also wearing Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Kate's sister Pippa Middleton looked glowing in her simplistic floor length white gown. Her hair was gorgeous and she certainly held elegance and beauty on the big day. I'm not sure whether she just has a natural darker skin tone that sister Kate, but I've got a feeling she'd been hitting the sunbeds in the weeks approaching the big day in order to get that healthy glow, but maybe that's just the contrast between her and her sister's angelic complexion!

Like I said above, with hits, always come misses...

I feel sorry for the poor deer massacared in order to supply Beatrice with that monstrosity of a fascinator, what was she thinking? The big pick for the big day when it came to hats & fascinators seemed to be Phillip Treacy, who designed a huge number of hats worn by guests... it's different I'll give him that. Eugenie.. I'll let you off as the dress is Vivienne Westwood, whom is AMAZING, but I just don't think it's suitable for an event like this.

THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO, with Tara Palmer Tomkinson. It was far too matchy matchy for my liking, gloves, hat, dress, clutch, shoes... she was most probably wearing a blue thong underneath as well... brave, but she didn't pull it out of the bag this time for me.

There was much speculation as to what Victoria Beckham would wear to the Royal Wedding... I was a bit disappointed and sensed a lack of effort in her outfit! It was all too stern, but she could be thinking anything at 8/9 months pregnant. David, as usual looked REEM. But yes, I can see where the comments about Posh being 'dressed more for a funeral' are coming from. It wasn't a disaster, but it certainly wasn't a victory.

Last but certainly not least, the apple of my eye, the sweetest woman to grace this earth, Camilla Parker Bowls. I joke. Queen Elizabeth looked so cute on the big day, comments of her looking like a banana did make me smile but I thought she looked amazing, and so well for her age. In a hat designed by Angela Kelly, she certainly stood out... well she always would being the Queen of England but you get my drift. Camilla looked good too, very elegant and effortless, also wearing a hat by Phillip Treacy. He must have made a mint over the past few months!

Apologies for not blogging sooner, from now on it'll be daily posts.
Hope you enjoyed it, Mwaaaaah X
