Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

I love the Beatles, their music is irreplaceable and they are the true definition of what BritPop is...

Therefor I couldn't help but buy this T Shirt from Topman last summer,
I wear it quite a lot because it goes with so much, and as much as I'm not usually a fan of round-necks I think this one suits me!

I teamed it with some carrot style trousers from Pull & Bear and my vintage belt from Bambah!

Anyway, this was just a quick post, now of to get my hair done by my gorgeous friend Paris and my personal trainer tonight, kill me now.

The Only Way Is Essex - Essex Fashion Week

We've got London, Paris, Milan... and now Essex?!

If you're looking for something a little more down to earth, less abstract, more false boobs and a lot more fake tan than the conventional catwalk, then Essex Fashion Week is the place for you!

I must admit, a certain guilty pleasure of mine is The Only Way Is Essex. I know a lot of it is staged for the cameras and the cast could be percieved as 'shallow' but as the true definition of a Reality TV Show Junkie, I can't help but be addicted. I love it, I love the glamour and tans and the drama... it's all too much!

During EFW a few of the notorious TOWIE stars strutted down the catwalk wearing a mix of designer, high street, couture outfits. Some gorgeous gowns were spotted and I personally think that the show was stolen by the gorgeous Jess Wright, wearing a stunning couture white gown.

Jess Wright... I'm not a huge fan of white dresses usually but walking down the catwalk you can imagine this dress being a show stopper.

Jess Wright & Lydia Bright

Lauren Goodger & Jess Wright

These are only a few pics, they're quite hard to find but I think this will give you an impression of the goings on at EFW... I wonder if there were any scraps between cast members during the 3-day show... Looks like we'll have to wait and find out on Sunday, I for one can't wait.

Rihanna does VOGUE April 2011... Who's excited?

In answer to my question above, me! I'm excited! Despite what a lot of people say, I LOVE Rihanna, I love her style, I love her music & she seems a genuinely nice person in the interviews I have seen.

Of course, some of what she wears isn't 'conventional' and she doesn't always hit the nail on the head, but it's nice to see someone a bit different and not possessing the long Kim Kardashian curls wearing the same thing everyday just in different colours, although I do love KK...

The cover for Vogue America's April edition as been released and I am loving it!

A certain Mermaid theme has appeared and you could say Rihanna is modelling her image on the famous Ariel from the Little Mermaid, with the skin tight dress and the fierce red hair.

There's a lot of different opinions regarding Rihanna's famous red hair, but I for one love it. Red's a tricky colour to pull off and requires a lot of maintenance, obviously someone as famous as Rihanna probably has a hair stylist on call 24/7 to make sure her hair is always kept in tip top condition and the colour is always glistening. For us peasants, as much as we'd like a hair stylist on call 24/7, this isn't possible, and there's only so much that 'Nice n Easy' root touch up can do before ... putting it bluntly, your hair looks shit.

Anyway, enough rambling, this was just a quick post regarding one of my favourite style icon's. Ariel. Jks got love for RiRi.

One of my top designers...

HENRY HOLLAND

Creator of the 'House of Holland' line, Henry Holland is famous for his quirky, fun approaches to fashion, there's never a dull moment when Holland's around and his London Fashion Week SS11 line definitely lived up to my expectations.

He started off as a journalist but his talent clearly lies in the designing field, bold prints, fierce cuts and wild colours ooze through his latest collection and I LOVE IT!!

The fabulous Agyness Deyn modeling on of his hilarious tees.

One of his more eccentric tights collections... Some patterns including London Telephone Boxes & the Statue of Liberty.

Above are the fabulous collections showcased at London Fashion Week SS11,  I love the floral prints especially...

Henry Holland is definitely a designer to watch out for, I've got a feeling that this is just a taster for what Henry Hollands's got in store for the fashion world...

KATE WINSLET, LANCOME LIPSTICK AD...F.A.K.E

So the new advertising campaign for Lancome lipstick has been released with the one and only Kate Winslet to be the face of the new campaign, but something appears to be a little wrong...

It seems that the posters used for the campaign as just about as fake as that miraculous tan I got in February.. very fake. I'm personally not a huge fan of the whole air-brushing craze and do think that a more natural look looks better and is obviously more realistic, but, we the public are faced with a daily battle of opening up magazines, reading online and passing billboards with the numerous celebrities all with faces of waxworks. No amount of Botox, no amount of surgery and no amount of money can result in a complexion so flawless, yet we still yearn for this 'youthful image standard' set my the majority of models and celebrities in this day & age.

What's even worse is when these celebrities preach to the public on how they don't agree with air-brushing and refuse be air-brushed in shoots. For example, take Kate Winslet, the promoter in this case, stated this no more than two years ago...

'I will particularly say when I look at movie posters, “You guys have airbrushed my forehead. Please can you change it back?”’

Clearly this quote does not apply to the most recent posters of Kate modeling for Lancome..

I personally find these photos ridiculous and when compared to her real complexion... the whole thing is laughable.

Kate has even admitted herself,

"I have wrinkles and they are very evident"

...so why protest against the use of air-brushing in magazines and willingly go along with this?
Of course, a gigantic spot slap bang in the middle of someone's forehead you can understand, I admit, the re-touch tool on iPhoto is probably my most used icon on my laptop, but for realistic enhances, ones that don't make me look like a plastic bag.

Don't be drawn into these products just because the model has a flawless skin tone, even some mascara adverts use fake eye-lashes as if they are natural ones, it's ridiculous!

Anyone keen on sharing their thoughts on the whole air-brushing scandal constantly circulating around the media these days? Feel free to leave a comment.

MamaT & her gorgeous LV scarf...

For Christmas this year me, my dad and brother got my mum a Louis Vuitton scarf. I've always liked them but never looked that closely when I was in the shop, it wasn't until the shop assistant recommended that we look at them until I truly fell in love with them! They come in so many colours, red, beige, blue, black, everything! I say scarf, it's more like a wrap, a pashmina? Anyway, for the first time in 3 MONTHS, she wore it last night. I thought it was worthy of a post on here, as it was a perfect 'Designer-St' mix!!

She teamed it with a plain navy top, white trousers & some really nice gold shoes- I loved this outfit! It was simple and classic & the scarf made everything a lot more exciting!

You can see the detail a lot more in this picture, it's the classic 'LV' design but set on a more silvery blue it looks a bit more modern.

I'd never even tried to wear it before but last night I was just mucking around and put it on, and I didn't think it looked too bad!!

As you can see I wore it two ways here, just slung around my neck casually on the left & tied loosely around my neck on the right. I think they look OK both ways and will DEFINITELY be borrowing it once I move back to the UK & face the colder weather, it's keeps you so warm!

Anyway, you've now met the fabulous MamaT on here again! Like I said, I've always loved my mum's style, she dresses for herself and only wears what suits her body shape.

LOOK OF THE DAY

Long-sleeve top: H&M, Khaki trousers: Massimo Dutti, Brown leather loafers: Massimo Dutti

Lovely day, I went to my old school to see my friends & then went out for lunch to Biella afterwards, gorgeous.
I liked this outfit, the long sleeve top made the outfit look slightly more casual, but it's so comfortable to wear as it's like T-Shirt material. All teamed with my lovely loafers which are so easy to wear because they go with so much! Definitely worth a buy :)

BLOOMINGDALES SPRING SUMMER FASHION SHOW

Tonight I attended the Bloomingdales Spring Summer Fashion Show at Dubai Mall. I'm a huge fan of Bloomies, ever since I visited NewYork 2 years ago and purchased my first Louis from there I've been in love.

Now, I apologise, I am a huge idiot and forgot to charge my camera, the show started, I got about 2 pictures and the horrid little blue screen appeared saying 'batter exhausted', I WAS GUTTED! But, my gorgeous friend Sarah (check her blog here) took lots and lots of photos, so as soon as she uploads them I'm gonna be sneaky and pinch a few. I will also upload the few pictures I did take as soon as my camera is charged, uh I'm gutted!

It was a really good show, it was a bit shabbily organised to begin with, we were left waiting for a while, the queue was long and it was a bit chaotic, but as soon as we got sorted, got our seats (3rd row... not bad, not good either) all was good. The catwalk platform rose from nowhere and the models did their thing, there were some GORGEOUS pieces tonight, in fact I liked nearly all the outfits shown.

Trends to watch out for this Spring/Summer:

High Waisted Shorts
Leather Mini Dresses
Suede Jackets
Suede Loafers
Peg Legged Trousers
Tailored shirts
Trench Coats (lightweight)
Sleeveless Jackets
Leather Skirts
Maxis
3/4 Length Denim Jeans
White Lace
Floral Jumpsuits/Maxis/Shirts
Colour Blocking

Leather & suede were huge, and of course floral, it wouldn't be summer without floral!
The whole show was set to summer-type music, like Holiday by Madonna, Summer of 69, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and it's put me in a really happy mood! I love summer, and love summer style as-well! Bring on July! I'm going to Halkidiki (Greece), New York & Malia and I can't wait! Gorgeous.

Like I said, pics up soon, kisses
